Local writers Rex Olsen and Dawn VanderMeer (former poster volunteer for Field’s End) have garnered finalist positions in the Pacific Northwest Writing Association’s annual contests.
Olsen took finalist in two categories: Poetry (“Painting Moon”; “Dance Music”; “The Cody Rodeo”) and Memoir (“Fencing Out The Rain”), while VanderMeer captured a finalist slot in the Young Adult category with “Perfect Vision.”
Both writers will learn their fates on August 1 at the PNWA’s Literary Contest Awards Celebration & Dinner Reception. Field’s End wishes them both the best of luck!
