Field’s End is the premiere writers’ community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, a writers’ and artists’ enclave situated across the Puget Sound from Seattle. Named “Best Writers’ Community” by The Seattle Weekly in 2006, the community debuted in Fall 2002 as a committee of the Bainbridge Public Library.
Since then, Field’s End has offered top-quality writing classes, a variety of free programs, and special writing events, including the annual Field’s End Writers’ Conference.
Join us for this year’s talent-packed conference, held on April 18, 2009 at the stunning Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, Washington. Featured speakers include the noteworthy “Grammar Girl,” Mignon Fogarty, as seen on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association award-winning author, Jim Lynch (The Highest Tide plus Border Songs, due in June 2009).
NEW THIS YEAR: An end-of-conference reading featuring Fogarty, Lynch and well-known haiku poet, Michael Dylan Welch; our first-ever participants’ open mic; a group collage workshop; and a moderated freewrite with Island author Mary Guterson.
